1. About Open Boat Life

Open Boat Life is the global community for life aboard — a platform for tracking boats, sharing photos, stories, routes and connecting with other boaters. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration details and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service, upload harmful content, or violate these terms.

3. Boat data & content

You own the boat profiles, photos, and messages you submit. By posting them on Open Boat Life, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display them on the platform so the fleet map, photo gallery, and community features can work. Do not upload content you do not have rights to share.

4. Location information

Boat positions shown on the map are provided by users. Location data may be approximate and is not a navigation aid. Do not rely on Open Boat Life for safety-critical routing, collision avoidance, or emergency services.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not harass other members or post illegal, abusive, or misleading content.
• Do not attempt to access other users’ accounts, private folders, or admin tools.
• Do not scrape, overload, or disrupt the service.
• Respect privacy — do not publish personal data about others without permission.

6. Community & messaging

Community posts and private messages are provided as-is. We may moderate or remove content that breaks these terms. Report concerns to site administrators when available.

7. Service availability

Open Boat Life is provided “as available”. Features, uptime, and map data may change. We are not liable for loss arising from downtime, inaccurate vessel positions, or third-party map tiles.

8. Termination

You may delete your boats and stop using the service at any time. We may remove content or accounts that violate these terms. Provisions that should survive (liability limits, IP licence for already published content) continue after termination.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms. Material updates will be reflected by the “Last updated” date on this page.
